"The Lost Painting: Two."
This is the sister of the first "Lost Painting." I painted these figures mostly from afar, using a long pole to which I attached my paintbrushes with duct tape. The back rows of figures ended up forming a pattern of "marching heads" with one row cocked to the left, and the next to the right, which was a cool visual tool. This photo was of the beginning stages of the work, but I actually like this as it is, looking back on it so many years later. I still have a tendency to overwork my pieces, and back then, I could create thirty paintings on top of each other. This piece took on a different form later on, and became a more abstracted landscape with all sorts of strange figures popping in and out to make their presence known and others to pop in to hide within the brush strokes of another.
